More detailed bio:

Vicki Johnson has had a distinguished career in public service, working in national Democratic and LGBTQ politics, in the White House, and as education director of an award-winning nonprofit serving Appalachian youth, but her favorite job ever was veterinary assistant.

Vicki was raised in rural Georgia and educated as a first-generation student at Smith College and Emory Law School, and she’s now pursuing her MFA in Writing for Children & Young Adults at Vermont College of Fine Arts. She lives in a historic log cabin in West Virginia with her daughter, two cats, and two dogs.
